I am trying to build a Revell 1/72 Type VIIC with complete interior. CMK does not make a kit for the Officer's Quarters/Radio/Sound Compartment or the Aft Torpedo/Electric Motor Compartment (and the rest need some improvement). Can anyone tell me how the 88mm Deck Gun Ammo Cases are stored underneath the Radio Room. Are the cases standing up or laid down? If laid down, how are they orient

I agree with the comments on your drawings. They look great to me. The "battery self-regulating rooms (or switch rooms) do not provide access to the batteries as I have seen claimed in some diagrams, but contain relays that conrtol groups of batteries at the command of the e-machine mates.

Remember, the important word here is perishable. Especially at the end of the war, it was hard to get at items stored outside the hull. Most photos of torpedos loaded on U-Boats show grease as they are loaded into the boat and more grease as they go into the tubes. The grooves in the tubes are to keep the torpedos from spinning (like a football or artillery shell) that would cause the gyros to topple. THe grooves also guide the piston pushing the torpedo out of the tube and stop the piston from leaving the boat and taking with

I am currently building a detailed Type VIIC U-boat model based on the Revell 1/72 model and CMK interior section kits. Since CMK does not have kits for all the sections (Officer's Accomodation (forward of Control Room) and Electric Motor and Aft Torpedo Room, I am planning to create my own using the existing CMK kits. I am looking for information on the stowage of ammunition for the 88mm d
