Another one to be added to the list: U-351 (9.3.1945) --> 'Situation report: 1.) Pillau: Bombs on town and harbour. These casualties were: Lummer, Franz-Anton-Xaver Schwichtel, Herbert Storm, Gottfried and Kober, Karl-Heinz (who died in a hospital and

Hi, John! I'll check and let you know. For u-boats that sank before 27.2.1941 (U-64, U-104 and U-122) there are no decyphered messages (as far as I know). As for others, I know for certain there's a message from U-123, a few about U-106 and the loss of the boat, and U-107 had a sick man, but that had nothing to do with any kind of injury. It's likely I missed some of the early i

I believe that few more incidents/deaths should be added to the current list of u-boat crew casualties on uboat.net? (http://uboat.net/men/men_lost.htm) Most of them, if not all, can also be found on Historisches Marinearchiv (Crew lists WW2) - if anyone would like to check. As far as the names in these radio messages are concerned, not all of them are (entirely) correct and I did leave out so

The only further information on this matter, that I was able to find, is ZTPG 364911, which says that "Lieut. cdr. Schulz took over the duties of S.O. 25th flotilla on 22/4." Whether he took them over from Franzius or Gysae, it doesn't say. If anyone ever finds the answer to this, please post it here - I'd appreciate it. Thank you!

This cannot be right, can it? "Lieut. commander Franzius continues to be entrusted with the duties of S.O. 25th u/b flotilla." (ZTPG 364088) R. Franzius was commander of the 25th? Wasn't that W. Schulz? I'm aware he was commander of the short-lived 18th flotilla, but this is the first time I came across info, that he was the S.O. of the 25th. Or is by &quo

I guess I didn't expect the title to be so... specific? Thank you very much! If you do find any further information on the book, I'd really appreciate it, if you'd share them here - and thank you for all your help. Best regards, Marinka

Unfortunately, Mr. Schneider apparently passed away nearly 2 years ago ( ), so I can't be sure, if it's still possible to order it that way, especially since the article itself was written in 2009. And considering my awful knowledge of german language (I have no trouble reading it, but when it comes to actually talking to someone... :/ ), I'd rather not call someone directly to Ge

Yes, I have both of Zinnau's texts - one 3 pages long (5 in the original - "Vorläufige Chronik U 393" ) and "Das Boot U 393 "Sultan" und seine Besatzung", which is 25 pages long. There are 2 incidents described there, which I wanted to check, but had no luck in finding any info on them - so far. U 393's radio messages and 'Duikboot' info on Histor

I think I have everything (well, most of the things) that can be found in Deutsches U-Boot-Museum

t-geronimo, since I'm particularly interested in one u-boat, that was used only for trials (which of course means that no KTB exist), would you mind letting me know, where to search for those kind of records? Thank you!
