View into the forward torpedo room. Loading skids for torpedoes are visible near the overhead. There are 10 bunks in this compartment as this is the living area for most of the boat’s ratings. Immediately beneath the floor is space for storing 4 torpedoes. Beneath the torpedoes are the torpedo compensating tanks and forward trim tank. Additionally, two torpedoes could be secured atop the floor. In total, 10 torpedoes could be stored in this compartment, which includes the four in the tubes.
