| The steamer was en route in company of SS Balaguier (which see) who was torpedoed 3 hours earlier. Abandonned in sinking condition, the ship remained afloat until the following day when she was sighted at 11:00 am by the british Gordonia which rescued in this occasion the chief engineer who had not been found when evacuating.
