History Completed in October 1941 for Ministry of War Transport (MoWT) 
Notes on loss At 02.27 hours on 13 Sep, 1942, the unescorted Ocean Vanguard (Master Wilfred Leslie Brett) was torpedoed by U-515 and sank following a coup de grāce at 02.38 hours about 45 miles east of Galera Point, Trinidad. Ten crew members and one gunner were lost. The master, 34 crew members and five gunners were picked up by the Norwegian motor merchant Braga and landed at Port of Spain, Trinidad.
