History Completed in August 1906 as German Haimon for Roland Linie AG, Bremen. 1907 renamed Horncap for Dampfschiffs-Rhederei Horn AG (H.C. Horn), Lübeck. 1911 renamed Pyrgos for Deutsche Levante Linie, Hamburg. 1919 taken over by Britain. 1921 sold to Belgium and renamed Roumanie for Armement Deppe, Antwerp. 
Notes on event

At 13.58 hours on 24 September 1942 the unescorted Roumanie (Master Emile Morbée), a straggler from convoy SC-100, was torpedoed and sunk by U-617 about 380 miles southwest of Iceland. The chief engineer Pierre Suykerbuyk was found on a raft and taken prisoner by the U-boat and landed at St. Nazaire on 7 October. The master, 36 crew members and five gunners were lost.
