At 0544K/24, USS Devilfish (T/Lt.Cdr. S.S. Mann, Jr., USN) is joined by USS Sprangler (Lt.Cdr. H.M. Edwards, USNR) which is to escort her to Saipan.

They arrived at Saipan shortly after 1300K/24.

USS Devilfish was then taken in hand for repairs to make her fit for onward passage to Pearl Harbour by the submarine tender USS Fulton (T/Capt. A.A. Clarkson, USN).
