Around 0800Z/12, HrMs O 24 (Lt. W.J. de Vries, RNN) departed Freetown for Simonstown. She is escorted out until 1040Z/12 by HMS ML 271. (1)

17 Nov 1942
HMS P 614 (Lt. H.W. Wilkinson, RN) conducted A/S exercises off Freetown together with HMS St. Zeno (T/Lt. J.K. Craig, RNVR), HMS Coventry City (T/Lt. J.C. Grose, RNR), another HMS trawler (unable to read the name in the log of HMS P 614) and HMS ML 271. (2)
