Took part in D.Day landing on Sword Beach between eight and eightthirty on 6th June 1944 under the command of Lt Barrat.R.N.V.R. On approaching. On approaching the beach the craft struck one of the beach defences which had become dislodged and the resulting explosion damaged the starboard propeller but did not stop the landing but did stop the craft putting to sea until the next high tide. after repair at Shoreham the vessel took part in may more trips to the beaches. Was subsequently sent Milford Haven for equiping for the Far East which cancelled on the use of the atomic bomb.From Milford Haven the vessel was sent to Appledore for decommiscionming and was laid up alongside many others.
