Transferred to the USSR the same day.
Returned to the U.S.N. 1 November 1949.
. Transferred to South Korea 23 October 1950 being renamed Apnok (62).
Apnok was damaged by collision 21 May 1951.
Returned to the U.S.N 3 September 1952.
Stricken 26 May 1952.
Sunk as a target on 30 September 1953.

Convoy PS 160T, made up of the following transports USS US Grant (AP 29, 9410 GRT, built 1907), USS Lynx (AK 100, 7176 GRT, built 1943), Duala (Norwegian, 1800 GRT, built 1938), Permanente (American, 9606 GRT, built 1902), Cape Cleare (American, 6711 GRT, built 1943) and the tanker Gulf Caribbean (American, 9299 GRT, built 1942) departed Pearl Harbour for San Francisco. The convoy was escorted by the frigate USS Rockford (M.C. McGuire, USCG) and the minesweeper USS Ardent (A.D. Curtis, USNR).
