History

Used as a target ship for Operation Crossroads atom bomb tests in July 1946.
Survived the first bomb test but during the second test the flight deck collapsed
Decommissioned on 28 August 1946.
The ship was employed as a radiation research hulk for several years, and was docked at San Francisco.
Finally sunk as a target on 30 January 1951.
Stricken 27 February 1951.
