History

Merry Hampton was converted to a s survey ship in 1923 being renamed Herald.

Scuttled at Seletar, Singapore on 9 February 1942 after being damaged by Japanese aircraft.
Raised by the Japanese, renamed Heiyo.
Mined and sunk on 14 November 1944 in Adang Bay, Borneo, Netherlands East Indies in position 01º43'S, 116º26'E.
