History

Baltic fleet.

Listed as missing in August 1943. Possibly struck a mine near Lavensaari or in Narvski bay. 45 (all hands) lost. The body of a crewmember was found on 4 September on the shore of Seskar island.

S-9 torpedoed and damaged the German tanker Mittelmeer (6370 BRT) some 10 nautical miles west of Vasa, Finland in position 63°06'N, 21°18'E.

S-9 damaged the German merchant H?rnum (1467 BRT) with gunfire near Poti, Finland.
