History | Stationed at Iceland along with sister ship Mississippi during the Pearl Harbour attack, she soon moved to the Pacific spending the remainder of the war there. She arrived at Tokyo Bay on 27 August 1945 with the occupational force and was close by USS Missouri when the surrender was signed on 2 Septemnber on that ship. Decommissioned 3 July 1946. |
