3 Jan 1945
Having her working up period completed USS Superior left San Pedro for Pearl Harbor on 3 January 1945. She arrived at Pearl Harbor on the 13th.

19 Jan 1945
USS Superior left Pearl Harbor on 19 January 1945. She was bound for Eniwetok serving as convoy escort en route. Later she returned to Pearl Harbor and again sailed to Eniwetok as convoy escort.

9 Apr 1945
While on patrol duty of Okinawa USS Superior was almost hit by a Japanese Kamikaze. The plane ditched into the water only some 20ft from the ship.
