History | In October 1940 the passenger ship Antonia of the Cunard White Star Ltd, Liverpool was requisitioned by the Admiralty with the intention to be converted to an armed merchant cruiser. She never served in this role. On 24 March 1942 sold to the Admiralty, converted to a repair ship until 1944 and renamed HMS Wayland. Scrapped at Troon, Scotland in 1948. Displacement: 13867 BRT. |
