History

Equipped and served as a training cruiser before the war.
Interned in the West Indies at Martinique in June 1940 and demilitarized after American pressure on 14 May 1942.
Transferred to the Free French forces on 30 June 1943.
After the Second World War Jeanne d'Arc was refitted and reverted to her peacetime training role in July 1946.
Decommissioned on 16 July 1964.
Stricken by the French Navy in 1965.

HMAS Perth (Capt. H.B. Farncomb, RAN) arrived off Aruba where three German merchant vessels were observed at anchor.

Later HMAS Perth made rendezvous with the French light cruiser Jeanne d'Arc (Capt. H.B. Farncomb, RAN) and intelligence was exchanged. (1)
