History | On 9 July 1942 the Italian submarine Perla (commissioned into the Italian Navy on 8 July 1936) was captured off Beirut by the British corvette HMS Hyacinth. She was commissioned into the Royal Navy as HMS P 712. On 5 December 1942 she was transferred to the Greek Navy. She served as Matrozos until decommissioned in 1954. |
