8 Jan 1944
An oil fire in her blacksmith shop caused damaged & threatened to spread to the rest of the ship, but it was brought under control. The ship spent part of January repairing this damage.

Aug 1944
In late August, a bacillary dysentery outbreak began while working off Eniwetok. Ship was quarantined on September 1st, & detached on September 9th to proceed to Kwajalein to fight the epidemic. Quarantine ended on October 10th, & she returned to duty. (2)
