7 Feb 1944
USS Swordfish (Capt. K.G. Hensel, USN) ended her 10th war patrol at Pearl Harbor. She was escorted in by USS PC 603 (Lt. E.D. Gasson, USNR).

15 Aug 1944
At 1330VW/15, USS Searaven (T/Cdr. M.H. Dry, USN) departed the Submarine Base at Pearl Harbour for her 12th war patrol. She was ordered to patrol off the Kuril Islands via Midway where she was to top off with fuel and water before proceeding to her patrol area. She was escorted out by USS PC-603 (Lt.(jg) S. Powel, Jr., USNR) which escorted the submarine until 2015VW/15. (1)

25 Dec 1944
At 1030VW/25, USS Searaven (T/Lt.Cdr. R. Berthrong, USN) ended her 13th war patrol at Pearl Harbour. She was escorted in by USS PC-603 (Lt. S. Powel, Jr., USNR) which had joined at 0613VW/25.

USS Searaven was then taken in hand for a post patrol refit to make her fit for training duties to which she was now assigned. (2)

27 Dec 1944
At 0620W/27, the submarines USS Dragonet (T/Cdr. J.H. Lewis, USN), which was on passage from Midway to Pearl Harbour, and USS Haddo (T/Lt.Cdr. F.C. Lynch, Jr., USN) which is on passage to Pearl Harbour from a patrol off the Philippines to Pearl Harbour via Saipan, were joined by the patrol vessel USS PC-603 (Lt. S. Powel, Jr., USNR) which was to escort them into Pearl Harbour.

But before they could do so they were to be joined by the submarine USS Gar (T/Lt.Cdr. M. Ferrara, USN) which is on passage to Pearl Harbour from a patrol off the Philippines to Pearl Harbour via Saipan. She joined at 0812W/27 after which the submarines and their escort proceeded to Pearl Harbour arriving around 1115W/27.
