Mesh and Lace!

Dear Brent,
As I briefly alluded to in my response to your posting about ensigns, I have discovered yet a better solution! Fine mesh-and -lace ribbon. I paid only .51 for a slab more than enough for Revell's U-99 tower-deck. I have not yet painted it, but I glued the circular installment to the Winterdarden area, and a couple pieces on the front side. And it really looks like the wire grading that actually existed on German u-boats! The holes are finer than the fibreglass, yet much more discernible than the wire-mesh stuff I bought at the (over-priced) hobby store. Best of all, the soft texture of the fabric allows the plastic to absorb much of it, so that there is almost no uneveness in the surface of the final product! I will have to spray-paint it farther away, so that only a fine mist touches the surface. But it looks more much more to scale than fibre-glass screen or mesh-wire did. ANd I did not have to pay $8.00 for a gigantic roll that I did not need, as I would had I bought the fibre-glass screen at Lowe's.
I must be proving myself as a serious modeller, as I am beginning to innovate my own techniques with professional results. And, my heading recalls a phrase from a great song by Modern English.
Warm Regards,
Einsamer Wolf
