Hey Ranier! Ah Yes the Comparison between a US Sub and a U-Boat; After having toured both Boats it was My Impression that the Germans were so much more advanced in underwater Submarine Technology than the Allied powers at that time; it would be like comparing a Model T to The Space Shuttle, I realize that US Subs had more room for its crew, but the Germans stuffed extra equipment into their Boat that- at the end of the war- The Allied powers used these examples to Better their technology,I hope this answers Your Question, Im not an Engineer but for what I observed, I think (DUH!) that if those Enigma Machines had not been captured The U-Boats would Have come out on Top! Thanx for Listening! KIP
