Hi there ! I was looking for some info related to type IX sub , and found this message ... my name is Gabriel Barbu , from Romania , and I'm working to a large ( 1/40 ) scale of an Type IX sub .. I am already build the hull , after some plans from "Vom original zum modell " book , but start to ask myself how accurate I work ... here , in Ro , info related to subs are almost 0 , tools and materials for this hobby , hard to find .. a friend of mine found this book , and I start working by scanning the plans , and enlarge them , redrawn , and so on .. a lot of work , just to put on scale - and I can't check if I work accurate !!!... I miss the welding lines , and the rivets lines ...
I see that Joe have some blue prints for the type IX ... could it be possible to have a copy of them , to compare some dimensions , and maybe find others info I need ? also , big problem is for the guns , I miss baldy accurate drawnings , and also for the conning tower ... if there are somehow a chance to help me , please write me back to GBarbu@ubisoft.ro , because it's hard to get in here , to check the message list !
