I have both the White Ensign and CMK kits. The WE is a photo etched set, and yes, the real unit is made out of round stock. The forward torpedo loading bracket that mounts in the conning tower area does not mount in the forward periscope. It's offset to be on the center line of the torpedo loading tubes, internal and external. If it is not on center, it would bind with the torpedo while the torpedo was in the tube. The CMK kit is for the REAR external torpedo storage with the decking attached to the top of the tube. The forward external torpedo storage tube has the decking open to one side. I have found this picture on Rokket's site and in books.
