I guess we will disagree. As for the loading of the torpedo and being off center, it is a big deal. Look at Jesse Mongomery's site under torpedo loading. The top right picture clearly shows the crew loading a torpedo at sea and the wiring (althought not using the conning tower equipment) is attached way to the starboard side. Which would put it on the centerline of the loading tube.
