Right. Unless you get right up to the main free-flood vent pattern with a light, there's not much to see.

I don't know what you can see with the kit's deck slots opened up or with Nautilus' deck, but with Modelbrass' deck you can't see much at all. Especially, because the slots are narrower, which is good because they are more true to scale. I can see that there's something there, but I can't make out what it is.

YMW does a fine job. The kit is amazing with details, but I don't think it's needed. Just basic shapes are all that's needed. IMHO.
