Blows the decals off??
If you apply the decals over a gloss surface (pretty much the standard these days) using setting solution to soften the decal and make it adhere, and then seal it with a coat of clear semi-gloss or flat, nothing at all should make your decals come off. You could even give the model a proper wash and they would be safe.
