While it is sad that artifacts have in the past been removed from various naval craft, regardless of origin, I believe that the sailors that went down with their ship would be glad to see that someone still cared enough to remove parts of their craft for museums and for the historical record. Would you rather see this once proud vessel rot to pieces underwater and vanish from memory forever?
