Replacements ONLY on Black Sea type II U-Boats....

You are right, because the "normal" patrols ended somwhere in 1941. It can be verifyed at the U-Boat index. The boats for the Black Sea came from training flotillas.
The increasement, was not because of the RAF, but because of the Russian air attacks.

In August 1943 some, of the 6 Black Sea U-Boats, got an additional sole 2cm AA on the Wintergarten. (this happened maybe to all, at this date).
In January1944, at least on U-23, the additional sole 2cm AA on the Wintergarten was replaced by a 2cm AA twin.

So, at least U-23, had 3 * 2cm AA. (one sole 2cmAA on the front aree of the bridge, and a twin 2cm AA on the Wintergarten)

PS:Maybe, I have misused the word deck. With deck, I did mean in front of the bridge (like others U-types the 8,8cm & 10,5cm guns).
