Robert, further clarification and post script:
Above propulson system obviously refers to types IIV and IX etc.
Type XXIII single screw with arrangement similar to one side of type XXI's twin screw installation, which differs from previously described as follows:
Diesels in the XXI were actually Diesel generator sets only connected electrically to the main E-motors, which turned the shafts.
