I agree with you 100%, but I am just going by what I am reading here. The \"suspicions\" I quoted earlier were from two documents: Action Report, Commander Task Unit 4.1.3, dated 3 November 1041, entitled, \"Loss of Reuben James, Report Of\" and Action Report, Commander Task Unit 4.1.3, dated 26 November 1941, entitled, \"Escort of Convoy HX-156.\"

If you like, I can scan in the pages in question so you can see for yourself. I, for one, have never heard of such a thing which is why I have raised the question now. I should be able to go through more documents at the archives to see where they lead me and as I said before, my primary interest is in finding the USS Reuben James. But the Commander\'s comments were so, well, explosive, that I feel compelled to check it out.
