THANK YOU!!
I must admit I am getting more and more interested in this side-sjow to the more important battlefields of WWII.
I will surely send this on to my friend.
Thank you again for providing this info.
Yours
Henrik

Hi Henrik!
\\\"Operation Wunderland II;German ops on the Siberian Sea route.
U-255,(Erich Harms),wich on the way out has sunk on 27 July (1943)
the Soviet survey ship AKADEMIK SHOKALSKI (300 tons),
establishes a base on 1 Aug near Spory Navolok,
on the NE coast of Novaya Zemlya.
Here she refuels on 4 Aug a Bv-138 flying boat,
wich on 5, 6, 7, and 11 Aug reconnoitres as far as the Vilkitski Strait,
to prepare for ops against Soviet convoys by the Wiking U-boat Group,
comprising U-302, U-354, and U-711,
and by pocket BB LÃœTZOW standing ready in Altafjord.
No convoys are sighted.
When the flying boat is no longer available,
a second operation from 4 to 6 Sept,with support from U-255 and U-601,
produces no result.\\\"
