Rumaging through some books here...have a copy of David Miller's "Uboats The Illustrated History of Raiders of the Deep" p. 86

quote: Federapparat Torpedo (FaT = area-search torpedo) made an immediate course change (max 135d in 1d steps) followed by a straight line, minimum 500 m extendable in 100 m steps. On completing this leg the torpedo entered the 'ladder' phase, starting with a left or right turn which was set before launch. Each leg was either 800 m or 1600 m long but each course reversal had a set radius of 150 m. The speed of the torpedo was a constant 30 knots, but its speed of advance during the course reversal stage was either 5 knots (1600 m legs) or 7 knots (800 m legs). end quote.

Based on the speed of 5 and/or 7 knots during the turns leads me to believe the 18 m turing radius is correct for the G7a and G7e right out of the Rohr.
