Hi Don,
back from another mini-vacation. To your question:
Only thing I can think of are the compressors. Since surfacing the crew prior to abandoning ship might have turned on either the Junkers (1cyl.Diesel, aft) or the electric compressor in the Zentrale to replenish depleted compr. air expended in prior DC hunt. The Eng.Off. would do this routinely as soon as the boat is on the surface and hatch and/or E/R intakes are opened. With them closed a minor pressure differential can develop rather quickly. You know, it only takes a little. Rgds, RB
PS: Computer fixed (except the Jaz drive), it was the Love letter virus (C-variant) - it ate abt 750 files, mostly Uboat photos.
