Robert, all type nines had the 9cyl MAN's, except the two type IXD1 U180+195. The engines were 4-stroke NOT 2-stroke. You must be thinking of the fleet boat engines.
Actually, I have no knowledge of the exact location of the rotorblade storage. Most of the deck gratings lifted and there was ample storage space there. If the blades were less than 24' they would have fitted into the torp storage boxes. I suspect they were in 2 parts and folded into the same stowage container with the auto-giro itself below the grating of the lower wintergarden.
