I would guess, (only a guess, but that’s all I got) that it was a starboard shot. As I interpret it the only true course is the U-boats own course of 170 degrees. The others are relative to the boat. And since no side is mentioned I would assume that less then 180 equal starboard, and more then 180 port side.

Don’t understand 22h, 100 gamma and 16 beta though.

As for the tubes I & III being on the starboard side I would be surprised if that has any relevance at all. All four tubes point straight ahead so I see no reason to not shot at either side from any tube.

There was no other data available such as angle on bow or something that might help?
