Where did you get this information? As far as I know, the electric
motor of the G7e torpedo started almost immediately after trigering
the starting latch. Starting latch was trigered in the moment of the
torpedo launch, and when trigered, it opened the air valve, and allowed
the air flow from the compressed air flasks to the gyroscope and to the
main electric switch, which turned the enigne on. It is said, that
electric switch was closed in ,005 sec after trigering the starting
latch (the torpedo left the tube after about 0,8 sec).
