<HTML>Enjoyed reading the history on this frigate. The reason for the special interest is that my father was on the vessel during it's first launch as discribe. The story we heard was pretty much the same and events or claims I remember as a child was that this frigate got the kill. The plaque that they had recieved, which now hangs on the wall in my living room, displays " Sunk by HMSAS NATAL 12 03 45 " and the U mentioned is U 766. I don't know if it is an error on your history notes or on the plaque itself. I am interested in learning more about this frigate and events. My fathers' name was James Mooney, Petty Officer DSM.
