Hello,
My grandfather, LT Alfred Benson Cole was Glendhu's Gunnery Officer. He was the boarding officer for the boarding of U-1024. My mother (his daughter) has copies of his original hand-written notes (maybe written during the boarding or post boarding), plus his official letters to the Admiralty post the event. Good reading, although I'm sure there is information missing from the official report.
My mother is in the process of reseraching the event; unfortunately my grandfather never talked of the event. He was awarded a DSC for his participation in the boarding.
