I am forwarding this request on behalf of a friend.
"While researching incidents for our ship collision with iceberg database I came across mention of HMS Campobello having struck an iceberg on 15 March 1943. Apparently, this mine sweeping trawler (T 278) was on loan to the RCN. The trawler was sufficiently damaged by its collision with the iceberg that it was considered not worth salvaging and was sunk next day by the corvette HMS Godetia using shallow set depth charges, after having lifted the 35 man crew. One report indicates that the accident occurred in the waters of or off Quebec.
I am wondering if you might have more particulars about this incident, particularly the actual location of this iceberg collision."
