while working on my fathers war record by chance noticed message from Sally Meek her husbands grandfather served on HMS Heliopolis. My father was aboard as Second Hand from Aug 22nd 1940 to Nov 17th 1941 when he went to HMS King Alfred for officer selection. I think HMS Heliopolis was attached to HMS Mersey at that period./ A photo from Beken of Cowes cross referances with one I have being the ex yacht Sayonara. Not sure of her movements when he served aboard.
