Joined 2nd Escort Group on completion (Liverpool and Plymouth)working in the western approaches/Irish Sea providing escorts to convoys and hunting U-boats.
12 March 1945 in company with HMS Wild Goose attacked a submerged sonar contact southwest of Lands End;it was believed that this was responsible for the sinking of U-683 but now thought it was actually the wreck of the U.247
