Hello Peter, I came across your old posts when looking for information about HMS SANTA - my grandmother's brother was a rating on her, and was lost when the boat hit a mine of Maddalena Sardinia (23/11/1943). This information was cherished by the family as knowing where & when Patrick ( my great uncle) lost his life. Since you posted here, have you found any more information about the loss of HMS Santa in your research? I am interested to know any additional information you may have found?

(My family understands that SANTA & clearly other minesweepers were clearing mines preparatory to the Allies invasion of Anzio 22/01/1944)
