Joe,
I have not the KTBs of those Boats, so for the moment it is difficult to say which one. However according to my files, Karnak would have been sunk 100 m SE of Malta that is rather far from the coast. On the other side, Polynesien is known to have been sunk S Ionian Sea.
In any case the answer is in the KTBs and also in the French Navy historical dept. at Vincennes (close to Paris) where the files are held under the following references :
Karnak folder 2506 box 20
Polynesien folder 9495 box 85.
