The only Duchess of Cornwall to be impressed in the Royal Navy is a paddle vessle of 302 tgr built 1896 which was taken up 1940 for use as auxiliry minesweeper.
There was NO Duchess of Cornwall in the R.N. during WWI, therefore no duplication of name here. Merchant vessels can duplicate their names as many times as they like, the official register number is the only thing that matters for insurance et al.
