hi all
our family lost a relative on 28.11.1916 aboard the s.s.'moresby'(shanghai). his name was william hyde and was the first mate.
my questions are.
(1)does anyone know anything about this sinking
(2)why does the commonwealth graves site refer to the ship in inverted commas and shanghai in brackets
(3)what is a first mate.
if you feel i'm asking the wrong forum could anyone recommend another.
any information welcome
thank you
nigel
