From Tennent's "British Merchant Ships sunk by U-Boats 1914-1918":
MORESBY
owner: Moller and Company, Shanghai
ex-Jacob Christiansen
1763 tons built 1881
26.11.1916 torpedoed and sunk in the Meidterranean 120 miles NW by N from Alexandria in position 32.26N 28.38E by the submarine U-39 whilst on a voyage from Saigon to Dunkirk with a cargo of rice. 33 lost.
-------------
I would suggest that the CWGC is indicating the name of the ship by placing it in inverted commas, to seperate it from the port of registration - Shanghai - which it has put in brackets
