Thanks to all respondent. I will show a sub-related loss in my database for Ryton. I have to agree that the idea of ramming a uboot & sinking as a result would discourage many Masters - though it did not deter the Captain of HM destroyer Fairy....
The one remaining question, who sank the Halldor? Could it have been U39 before the collision or was there another Uboot operating within such a restricted area?
