I have been given two old photographs of UB9 at Newport, Mon. docks in 1919. The deck gun is very much to the fore.

A relative of William Charles Williams has told me that the gun given to Chepstow by King George V came from this submarine.William Charles Williams was awarded his VC for his bravery at Gallipoli in 1915.

I have picture of the submarine and gun at Chepstow which I will E mail to anyone who can give me information on UB9.

Can anyone answer the following so that I can let the local school chilren and people of Chepstow, Mon know about their gun's history.

I've searched the internet but cannot find the desired information.

When was UB9 commisioned?
Where did she see service?
Did she sink any shipping?
Was she captured or surrendered at end of WW1?
Who was her Commander?
Any information on her crew?

Best regards

Bryan Rendell
