Correction to query
The Healdton was sunk on March 21, 1917 (not the 24th as in my original query). The story was reported in the Mar 24 NYTimes and elsewhere. The tanker was 4489 gross tons; the captain was Charles Christopher; there were 13 fatalities, including 7 U.S. citizens. Germany denied that one of its U-boats had sunk Healdton. If any source indicates the identity of the sub that sank the Healdton, that is my missing fact!Survivors were picked up by Dutch trawler off Terschelling light.
Again, any further detail on the Uboat would be greatly appreciated.
